## How calendar linking works

Pexip Engage acts as a planning layer on top of your existing calendar. It supports **Microsoft Office 365**, **Microsoft Exchange**, and **Google** calendars.

When your calendar is linked:

- **Engage appointments are automatically copied** to your work calendar, so you always have a complete view of your schedule.
- **Appointments are only offered during free times** in your work calendar. All events in your work calendar are considered when determining availability, except those with a “Free” status.

> Any event in your work calendar that does not have a “Free” status will block that time from being offered to customers.

## Linking your calendar

1. Log in to the Backoffice.

2. Go to **Account settings**.

3. Select **Synchronised Calendars**.

4. Choose your calendar provider:

    - **Google** – for Google Calendar
    - **Microsoft** – for Office 365 or Exchange

5. Enter your credentials and grant the required permissions.

6. Enable **Copy appointments** to sync Engage appointments to your work calendar.

7. Enable **Use for availability** so Engage checks your calendar for free/busy information.

8. Click **Save**.

## Testing the link

After linking your calendar, verify that the connection is working:

1. Go to the **Calendar** tab in the Backoffice.

2. Check that your work calendar events appear alongside your Engage appointments.

3. Confirm that time slots blocked by work calendar events are no longer offered to customers.

> If your events do not appear, wait a few minutes for the initial sync to complete. If the issue persists, try unlinking and relinking your calendar.
